Musk recently stated that organisations will be able to track down the Twitter accounts which are associated with them in the near future.
Elon Musk, Twitter’s CEO, says businesses using the microblogging network will soon be able to discover Twitter accounts associated with them. This will help to combat the proliferation of fake accounts. As well as expressing regret about the speed of the application in many countries, he also called for improvements.
On November 13, Musk made a comment regarding the Twitter feature without going into too much detail. As part of a new feature that will be available soon, Twitter will allow organizations to see what other Twitter accounts have been associated with them on the network.
This led to the world’s richest person tweeting an apology to the Twitter community about how slow the service was in some nations. As he wrote, “By the way, I’d like to apologize for Twitter being super slow in many countries. The app is doing >1000 poorly batched RPCs just to render a home timeline, and I apologize for this!”
Earlier this year, Twitter discontinued its $7.99 Twitter Blue subscription service for iOS users after some individuals purchased the verification service in order to mimic companies, celebrities, celebrities of the public eye, and even imaginary characters such as Mario.
The blue tick fee was put into effect by Musk as a result of many individuals being unhappy with Musk’s decision. The days following Twitter’s acquisition, celebrities such as Whoopi Goldberg and Gigi Hadid decided to leave the platform, and some advertisers even withdrew their support from the platform as a result.
The Twitter team had earlier reinstituted “official” badges for famous accounts in an effort to prevent people from imitating well-known brands on Twitter in order to prevent copycats from spreading their message. As of earlier this month, on November 11, 2011, the gray badge was again visible beneath the listings for some of the most well-known companies and media organizations in the world. Before this week, identification tags were used before they were discontinued by the government.
The list of countries that are eligible for the tag does not include India as one of them. In the present day, one can find “official” labels on Twitter accounts from China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Belarus, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt, Honduras, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Arab Emirates, among other countries.
There has been a rush of moves by Musk since he bought out Twitter earlier this year. There are a number of steps being taken by Twitter to combat phony identities on the platform that are active on a daily basis.
